Rooms:  In a city renowned for its legacy of forward-thinking design and architecture, The Peninsula Chicago continues this tradition with a comprehensive guest room redesign that sets a new standard for luxury accommodations in Chicago. Encompassing 331 of the 339 guest rooms and suites, this project showcases The Peninsula’s evolution of design of luxury and enhances every guest’s stay with ease, elegance and the ultimate in personalization, with guestrooms and suites able to transform into any one of 11 languages at the touch of a button, complimentary long-distance and international VOIP calls and WiFi. Drawing influence from the French Deco style of the hotel’s public spaces, the new rooms also utilized design elements based on cues from luxury yachts, with fine wood finishes, lush fabrics, and rich leathers. From coffee supplies and condiments in a nutrition center to power outlets and a wireless printer, everything has a spot designed specifically for their use that is both convenient and intuitive. Built-in desks and vanities in rich Macassar wood create a luxuriously functional and interactive experience. A hand-crafted floral art design element created by artist David Qian anchors each guest room, along with deep-blue textiles and custom-designed Pratesi linens. Local Chicago-based artist, Jean-Jacques Porret, was commissioned to create bronze sculptures displayed above the vanity in each guest room. Coinciding with the introduction of the redesigned guest rooms and suites, The Peninsula Chicago also unveiled new service initiatives including 24-hour check-in and “Keys to the City”, giving guests amazing access to Chicago’s best destinations.

Dining:  Dining at The Peninsula Chicago is nothing short of exceptional with three award-winning restaurants, each uniquely known for outstanding cuisine and superlative service. The Shanghai Terrace offers Cantonese delicacies amidst a 1930s supper club interior décor. With Chef de Cuisine Elmo Han at the helm, the menu encompasses a magnificent blend of traditional dishes and Chef Yuen’s creative rendition of classics. Or, if you prefer, step outside on The Terrace to take in spectacular skyline views and cocktails. Another popular outdoor dining option is Pierrot Gourmet, a European-style café and bistro where tables surrounded by colorful flowers face out on a bustling Rush Street. Inside, Pierrot Gourmet takes on a cozy farmhouse-inspired ambience with rustic wood panels and wrought iron accents. The Lobby restaurant offers soaring 20 ft high floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Terrace. Breakfast is a favorite here among early-rising Chicagoans and hotel guests alike, while The Lobby’s approachable, yet American contemporary inspired à la carte is ideal for power lunches and sophisticated dinners. The Lobby is also where the celebrated Peninsula Afternoon Tea is served. On Friday and Saturday evenings, dessert lovers swoon over the Chocolate Bar, and come Sundays, a spectacular brunch is served from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Pool & Gym:  The Peninsula Chicago’s coveted indoor pool, located on the 19th floor, offers breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the city through 20-foot floor-to-ceiling windows. The Peninsula’s state-of-the art fitness centre on the 20th floor also offers floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views over Chicago’s awe-inspiring skyline. The fitness centre provides ultra-modern Cybex and Free Motion training equipment complete with personal televisions.
