South Africa

DSCF0911-11South Africa is such a diverse and exciting destination, from cosmopolitan Cape Town to a thrilling safari in Kruger National Park to the dramatic coastline along the Garden Route. I was lucky enough to visit there a few years ago … and I would go back in a heartbeat!

Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with dramatic Table Mountain as its backdrop. About an hour outside of Cape Town is the Stellenbosch wine region where you can visit any number of vineyards and sample a wide variety of award winning South African wines. Try a Pinotage … a signature variety of grape located in the region. Kruger National Park, located in the North Eastern part of the country is home to the Big 5 — lion, elephant, water buffalo, rhino and leopard. Being out in the wild among these magnificent creatures was truly one of the most memorable and best experiences of my life.

I also noticed that this region of South Africa is not very crowded, which was just fine by me. Truth be told, you really can’t go wrong with any part of South Africa. It’s a fantastic destination!
