Discover Scotland – Video

My daughter, Natalie, just returned from a trip to London. While there, she took a little excursion to Scotland for a few days and although she absolutely loved London and all it had to offer, she could hardly contain her enthusiasm as she told me about her visit to Scotland. She compared it to how we felt about Florence when our family visited Italy a few years ago – we loved the entire Italy trip, but there was just something about Florence with which we all connected. I asked her to share some of those thoughts in writing and this is what she had to say:

After spending some time in London, Scotland was an incredible escape from the big city. Riding the train to Edinburgh and passing the gorgeous scenery along the way was absolutely breathtaking.

Edinburgh is an absolute gem of a city! As soon as I stepped off the train, I felt as if I had been transported back in time with the rich architecture, culture, winding streets and cobblestone roads. Everywhere we turned there was something dazzling and extraordinary upon which to lay our eyes.

The city really had something for everyone, whether it was adventure in outdoors, fine dining, shopping or rich culture and history. You could hike up a mountain, eat delicious food in a spectacular restaurant, and visit the oldest pub in Scotland all in one day.

Inspired by Natalie’s trip, I decided to select Scotland for this month’s Travel Video share. For this adventure, we once again turn to talented Poland-based filmmaker / photographer, Piotr Wancerz, who put together this video a few months ago for the National Tourism Organization and other tourism interests in Scotland. Contrasting with last month’s wildly popular Magical Europe video, which was a chartbuster in terms of views on Vimeo and YouTube, this month’s travel video has relatively few views thus far and is more of a hidden gem. As always, watch it in full widescreen glory and crank up the volume if possible. We hope you enjoy Discover Scotland!
